The moment we are born, we become inquisitive creatures to discover the world around us, that’s when we start to explore, and playing is still one of the most joyful ways to learn and explore.
Massar Project - The Syria Trust for Development, together with the Danish Embassy and “Lego” Foundation organised three creative learning workshops under the theme of “Building the Future”.
The world “Lego” in Danish means “play well”, and the workshops’ activities concentrated upon this concept. The Lego Learning Consultant Trainer Hanna Boutrup demonstrated the importance of playing using “Lego” as a learning tool to develop children’s communication skills, and to simulate creative thinking, exploring, and building. More than 150 trainers participated in the workshops from all around Syria representing various NGOs and institutions working with children across the country.
The workshops took place at Massar Prototype Centre on 31st May and 1st June 2010, and were followed by a donation of 220 boxes of Lego to participants representing orphanages, hospitals, refugee centres, UNRWA kindergartens and other institutions from all around Syria. This activity is the first step of the collaboration between Massar Project and “Lego” foundation.
